More Economic Stimulus Needed in the U.S.

Today, Nancy Pelosi shared that she believes the U.S. needs another economic stimulus package that reaches beyond the one signed months ago and responsible for all the tax rebate checks and direct deposits hitting Americans’ bank accounts.

Pelosi says, “The president has for a long time been in denial on the state of the economy.” If I had a penny for every concept, problem or issue George W. Bush was or is in denial about, I certainly would not need another tax rebate check to stimulate the economy.

The Bush Administration responded with, “We have an economic stimulus package in place, and coupled with the response from the Federal Reserve, we expect to see a return to growth in the U.S. economy as the year progresses.”

I am not sure if another economic stimulus package is the answer to the doomed economy of this country, but I can tell you or rather show you that the first round of tax rebate checks has certainly started to show its effects. Just check this out…

The fist picture is of a local family home taken last week. Apparently, they received their check this week because you can see in the second picture that they have been able to extensively renovate. They successfully expanded their home from a simple one bedroom/one car garage home into a one bedroom/ TWO CAR GARAGE home! EVERYONE IS BENEFITING FROM AND CONTRIBUTING TO THE U.S. ECONOMY NOW!

Before Stimulus Check

After Stimulus Check

Bush not only wants to ensure no child is left behind, he wants to ensure all Americans have equal opportunity to turn their one garage home into a two car garage! This is economic growth!

(Note: Yes, this is the same picture used below. Yes, there was actually a week’s time between the two pictures above and yes, there actually has been an addition to the compound. Nothing has been altered for impact.)

  1. I came across your blog on Technorati. Nice site layout. I will stop by and read more soon.

  2. I don’t see why the checks are so small. The FED has carte blanche to print as much money as they want. There are no precious metal reserves backing our currency. Everyone could be a millionaire and there would be no more hunger, bankruptcy, or late mortgage payments. Congress could pass a bill outlawing inflation too. Everybody wins, no?

  3. [...] a shame, though, that responsible citizens too must suffer not only the economic downturn but also the threat of febrile and neuroinvasive [...]

  4. Great idea: pump more money into the economy. Inflation is really low right now, so I think that’s a great idea. I mean, I don’t mind paying $5 for a gallon of milk… or gasoline, for that matter. Continuing to bail out corporations and the American consumer are only going to lead to more inflation and more debt. We should have to make choices. We’re not entitled to everything we want. On the bright side, foreign investors are having a heyday buying up U.S. property and businesses due to the dollar being in the toilet. On the downside, it doesn’t seem like there’s much we can do as everyday citizens. Or can we?

  5. Unfortunately it looks as though the stimulus check was not enough for him to keep the two car garage condo. Today it looks like he was evicted and the land is once again available to be rented (or walked on).
